Although I'll admit it may be more difficult than I thought; the fact that there are fans that think of ringing the bell as some iconic SU tradition that excites the fans and are thrilled they brought it back astonishes me.  A big part of our problem may be that the guys trying new things to improve gameday experience are the same ones that thought bringing back the bell and eliminating the Elmira Express train whistle was a good idea.  At least a dozen fans in my section were asking where the train whistle went and wanted it back.  I don't think it's the biggest thing in the world, but it's an example of why we're at this point - there was a budding "tradition" that had fan support, which was abandoned before it had time to lock in as a tradition.  Which is ultimately why we don't have any identifiable football traditions at SU.
