Even G-Mac, with the offense running through Carmelo, only shot 35.7% his freshman year. Joseph, Mookie, Southerland, and Scoop all shot that well from 3 last year, and Triche shot threes that well during the BE conference play.

Plus, even if JB doesn't redshirt him, Cooney won't be in the "lineup," unless JB goes 10 deep, which is unlikely. And even that is assuming that Cooney beats out Southerland as the #10 player, which also isn't tremendously likely.

Cooney has almost no chance to beat out Melo, Joseph, Triche, CJ, Xmas, Scoop, Waiters, BMK, or MCW.   I hope TC redshirts like Scoop did during his "injured" season, but JB doesn't give out many redshirts.
