I hope he works harder then Triche did for Coleman.
my guess is that, regardless of the friendship, he wants to be one and done and so will go to Kentucky. NBA law says you have to be one year out of high school before you can enter the draft, and Calipari has built a system that caters to those time-servers who are just running out the clock.
Syracuse is a place for guys who know they need at least 2 years to develop; they might have dreams of blowing up and being one and done, but they and their family/advisers know they need more work to advance.
2012-2013 Lineup
1.)Carter-Williams
2.)Triche
3.)Fair
4.)Christmas
5.)Noel
Rotation: Coleman, Cooney, Southerland, Grant, maybe Keita
Make it happen!
Interesting caveat in that story is DC being called a 4 year guy by the source. Not sure anyone has ever considered him that, and also not sure he would ever consider himself a 4 year kid.
" He’s a phenom who’s leveled off.”
I would agree with that statement, DC2 needs to be challenged and commit to getting super fit in the off season. Get his quick feet working too which will come with the right dietary and workout program. I like DC2 and he will destroy some guys down low in the ACC with his size but he has a ton of room for improvement before he goes to the NBA, and that is how it should be
Then let us not approve of them anymore. (just kidding on your mistyping of improvement)first...I believe that Triche played it right with DC2 and was one of a few reasons DC2 came to 'Cuse. Noel's decision is more complicated...depends on Melo leaving...and factor in KYs Davis gone and no one else at KY to compete with...at 'Cuse you have xmas, keita, and DC...and anyone of these three given jump in approvement could give Noel a challenge.
I hope he works harder then Triche did for Coleman.
I disagree with your first sentence. Memories are short. Just last year our center position was freshman BMK and freshman Fab. The junior BMK and sophomore Rak would have been better than that. Then add in DC2 and you now have a good center position.Fab leaving and not getting Noel would be absolutely terrible. Noel looks like a game changer, but another year of Fab (assuming uninterrupted) would be ok with me too.

I would guess DC2, junior BMK, and emergency Rak would be a top 5 BE center position.
I also don't buy into the hype with Noel. The whole game changer hype. He's not offensive at all, against HS midgets. Expecting him to put up numbers as a frosh in college doesn't make sense. I think DC2 will be more of an offensive force.
It would be good to see. As Fab as shown a defensive presence can really help anchor the zone. He's most certainly a better offensive player. Noel is as good and disruptive a defensive player as you'll find though. They can definitely coexist.

Plus he will bring more buzz to the program. And another SU player into the NBA. And even possibly help the future by redshirting BMK.
I don't know how JB would play them though. Looks like DC2 can only go in the center right now. And if you move Noel to PF it might limit his greatest attribute, his awesome D. Curious to see how it plays out.
