Will SU becoming #1 bring the Fine story back in the media?

It's already been mentioned actually. It's a whole "Syracuse keeps winning despite the distraction" thing. Extremely annoying. These players have nothing to do with any of this crap, so I wish the media would let the focus be on how talented they are rather than what "obstacles and distractions" they have to overcome.

The team is forming a silo where only they are allowed entry. Our boys are using this as a way to become better together. I even saw Waiters pass to Triche, and they both smiled afterwords. Tristan and Albany hugged and cried. It was a little like On the Beach.

Yes.

That and the "haven't gone outside NY State" which is annual and could incent new jokes given Bernie.

If I am Syracuse, I play up:

"We are so proud of the 12 kids who have been dedicated and focused to achieving all they can on the court to achieve this ranking, but importantly, some damage come March. It's early, but given everything involved, our guys have won a tournament against top competition, beat a top 10 team and dealt with highly unusual elements to achieve what we have. A long way to go, but at Syracuse, we are committed to developing great people and athletes that deal with adversity to persevere and win. Go Orange."

It'll be there all season. The only thing that can remove that cloud for good is a clean stamp from the Feds. Until then, the WWL will keep mentioning it. We could win the national championship and the first question to JB would be "how did you do it after all the controversy?". Who really gives a crap at this point? We're #1. As long as the kids keep winning they can't take that from them.

I have a feeling ESPN is going to have bigger questions to ask and answer if this Braun story turns out to be FOS. That could shut them up pretty quick.

Did I miss the part where this story had left the media? IIRC, saturday was the first day in a month where we didn't have a Syracuse heading on the WWL crawl.
This thing is here to stay until further notice. But at this point, who cares?

I think it was just starting to quiet down, at least for the moment
