Thus their scrimmage plays were only 22-28. The game was lost on Georgia tech’s scrimmage plays, which were a horrendous 16-54, including 13-49 on first and second down. That’s not only an appalling ratio but an appalling number of first and second downs. The Yellow Jackets didn’t need third down conversions to win this game. And they did it throwing 5 passes. Meanwhile we had 9 penalties to none, (officially, due to offsetting penalties), three turnovers and a blocked punt.
