Agreed. On a negative note, the offensive performance was disconcerting after that opening drive. The O seems to have really regressed the last two games.

But they came up when they needed to. Ran out 4+ minutes of game time when it counted, picking up firsts, running hard, etc.

It was ugly, but they got the W--that's all that counts.

True. But if you'd told me beforehand that we'd only score 14 and go scoreless for ~50 of the game's final minutes, I wouldn't have expected us to be in a position to win. Need to put more points on the board. And we've all seen that we're capable of doing better than what we've done the past two games.

All that said, a win is a win is a win. Pitt took it to Virginia Tech two games ago and we just beat them. Here's hoping this is the type of win that jump starts the team and gets the ball rolling.

I said before the game to the usher, didn't care what kind of game it was as long as we won, even if by 1 pt. I'm happy we're in 1st place in the big east, defense came up big at key times.

I don't think that the idea of 'learning to win' can be swept under the rug. These kids hadn't beaten a real team in almost a year. Everyone told them the SB game didn't mean anything. Pulling this game out will build confidence (I hope), and wins will be expected and not just hoped for.
