With the ACC big guns coming in, what is attendance going to be like?

Seems like the ACC is trying to maximize the draw right off the bat sending in the biggest names the first year. What is the largest attendance figure for a season? For a conference schedule? What is the most number of 30,000 people games in a season? If Georgetown (even St Johns) comes in early Dec, do they have hope of draeing 30,000?

It will all depend on the day of the week and the tipoff time.
I'll trust that the ACC values these games more than the BE did and won't give them noon (or 11:00am) tipoff times.

most games in a season with 30k+ was 8 back in the early 90's. were not coming close to that

I want to do that with UConn, but not G-Town. Georgetown and SU rose to national prominence together.

Wow. didn't realize that there that many in one season. No, I would not expect that many again.

It's funny; nearly every month with this attendance stuff.

Just like three years ago, nobody's showing up in any numbers to see North Carolina State.

If the game is played at 4:00 p.m. on a weekend, Duke and Carolina will draw numbers very similar to those that Connecticut and Louisville drew in those timeslots in recent years. In December we'll draw flies.

For Senior Day, it's very likely that we'll beat the 15,000 who were in attendance for DePaul last month. And perhaps the league opener will do a bit better than the ~17,000 announced for the Rutgers game this year (assuming decent record, date, time, and weather), since that was historically bad.

For the season, attendance will be no different that every year since 1994. Probably a bit of a bump (since this past season was down, and we made the Final Four and return a number of familiar faces). But we won't touch the post-probation high-water mark of three 30,000s in one year; there's no way we're setting any records.

OK, let me rephrase that... let's hope that the ACC does a better job in collaborating with its TV partners such that its high-value games will be scheduled on days when they can be featured during prime viewing slots.

OK, let me rephrase that... let's hope that the ACC does a better job in collaborating with its TV partners such that its high-value games will be scheduled on days when they can be featured during prime viewing slots.

And maybe drill some sense into the athletic department re: not moving a Senior Day tip to 6:00 p.m. on a weeknight, closing the backcourt and half the novelty concessions, and giving real ammunition to the fans who claim that SU actively tries to screw the fanbase.

Actually Duke had 2 in conference (WF and NC ST) and UNC had 3 (Maryland, VTech and UV) whils SU had 3 at noon (USF, Nova and Georgetown) and 1 at 11 am (Nova).
