My take is good but far from great. To reach very good we need Morgan or another big time secondary impact player.Zian Jones would be very good in the middle. I'm very happy about Morris and the TE verbals. Defensively the backers are quality additions. I am presuming we sign them all including maybe a flip out of Florida.:noidea:

End of the day, the class isn't terrible but it's not the type of class I had hoped would be pulling in going into year 4 of the 'rejuvination' either...

Losing smallwood certainly doesn't help. Not happy P&D are getting 4-stars at CONNVICT-U either...

One thing is for sure, Dougy has his work cut out for him next year... there are no more excuses.

What 4 stars at ucon? TOS shows O stars 63 best class and SU with 2 4 stars # 53 class

Sorry, my bad.

I saw another post a few days ago where poster said UCONN had a number 4 star recruits but their class rank was lower because they only had 13 commits... looks like the 4-star statement was total BS... I should have known better...

There doesn't appear to be a clear impact type recruit in this class, Cali. This class will go a long way in determining how good this staff is at finding under recruited talent. Several of these guys will need to contribute next year, IMO.

How do you know Zian Jones would be very good? Please don't tell me you analyzed his highlight video. Everybody looks like a monster in their highlights.
I don't think we have much information on him. Most recruiting information is second hand, at best. An obscure JUCO guy like him is a real crapshoot.

I understand how "highlight videos wok and their weakness BUT they can show you movement and a degree of strength. The kid has excellent size and the quickness to go with that size . Examining other reports on him gives me an indication of success. Certainly not a guarantee which no recruit could give or recruiting service for that matter.Don't disregard videos as being totally worthless. That would be a huige mistake on your part. Al. Its a tool and nothing more or less than that.

IMHO a couple of guys are undervalued, like Washington, Whitehurst (hopefully we'll hang on to him) and Palmer (ranking probably hurt by early commit).
One think I'll say about Marrone's commits is that their ratings only tend to go up - offhand I can't recall a single prospect who went down.
