With the Eagles mutiny starting and the plum USC job going to be available.

Wouldn't it make sense for Chip Kelly end up back in college at an elite job.

Chip will be our coach once our boosters get their checks together.

I don't seem him as being the recruiting type so he needs a school that can recruit itself. He also doesn't seem like the type who would fit in with a school that needs a HC to schmooze with boosters. So I think that would rule out Texas or an SEC school. USC is definitely a possibility. I think Miami would be another. I don't seem him fitting anywhere else for next year. If he took a year off though Penn State could be a possibility.

To many Penn St fans are Eagles fans. They would revolt if Chip was named coach.

Miami isn't paying for Chip. It would make sense for them to look at Cristobal (or Strong if he's fired). They need someone w/ local ties who can keep players home.

If Texas fires Strong, it will be someone the boosters can get behind, don't think Chip is that guy. He would fit at USC as his style is going to play well in LA

texas has been thrown around a lot and i agree, he doesnt seem to fit their mold. same with the SECs.

usc would work.

i really hadnt thought of state penn, it fits the mold i see him in...football god, leave him alone, just win. but not sure if the base would embrase the changes in personel and style he would have to make.

see rich rod at M.

What is all this talk of Chip Kelly losing his gig with the Eagles??

Last I heard, he was going to revolutionize the NFL with his offensive system. At least that's what I read on here ;-)

USC would definitely pay more. I believe Golden makes $2.5M and Sark $3.5 but if I am Chip and Miami is willing to split the difference at $3M I would go there. It won't take much for them to be the best Coastal team. Heck it won't take much for them to win the ACC. From a legacy standpoint he could have an easy time reviving Miami than USC. In which case he would be in The U Part III.

Kelly's record in the NFL is 21-15. Let's see where they wind up at the end of the season before we hire him for the USC or Texas job. I still think they go 8-8 and they take away his personnel dictatorship. I don't think Kelly wants to go back to college. He is a john gruden type not a recruiter nor do I think he gives a about who pays more at this point because they will all pay.

he seem like kind of a control freak and ego driven, would he accept the demotion? I also don't think he wants to coach in a player driven league. he wants to be in charge.

I think he wants his guys for sure but I think he will learn from mistakes as well. Not like he has been a complete failure either. Sure he has a big ego, all the more reason why I don't see him packing up and heading back to college. He may need to loosen up on a few things moving forward.

the only place Scotty bowman didn't win was where he put together the roster. Do what you're good at, don't spread yourself too thin.

Agreed. That is where he probably has failed.

As Jim Harbaugh has shown at Michigan pay the HC and you can turn it around fast. Chip Kelly will finish the year with the Eagles.
However if I am Pat Hayden I offer Chip Kelly 5-6 million per year and let him say no your USC so the money could be kept private but the guy has to be offered everything to fix USC.

Pat Haden will not be around to hire Chip Kelly or anyone else.
