The Lowdown: In the ACC-dominated top echelon for women's lacrosse, Maryland, a former ACC school before joining the Big Ten, still holds the reins after beating Penn State for the regular season title and top seed in the Big Ten tournament. If all goes well for the Terps this weekend, they will no question take the No. 1 seed on Selection Sunday with hosting rights and a first-round bye. North Carolina had a dip in its season with a loss to Syracuse in the ACC championship, but the Tar Heels still have an impressive resume that could hold strong for the No. 2 seed. The Orange taking the ACC crown will likely ensure a top eight seed given its automatic berth into the NCAAs, while the next best from the conference - Duke, Boston College, Notre Dame and Virginia - plus the breakout team in Stony Brook could round out the top eight. These seeds will thoroughly be discussed by the NCAA selection committee following the conclusion of the conference tournaments Sunday afternoon.
