They just wanted it more in that 2nd half. In every single way they dominated us. They may be a better team than SU, but they're not that much of a better team. It was a flashback to those games against Georgetown, Pitt, etc... where teams just got inside this team's head, and we shut down.

It happened early in the G'Town game, 2nd half in the Pitt game, and the whole second half in this game. It just felt like they decided at a certain point in the 2nd half "we're not winning this game" and stopped playing with intensity.

Disappointing to say the least, because it speaks more to their mindset, than anything else. Still plenty of wins out there for this team, but I was hoping they could at least keep this one interesting.

Outside of Onuaku ul is not a big team and they manhandled us, the rebounding #s were lousy. Pitt is not real long but they will try to mandhandle us also. SU better suck it up by sat. Go Cuse

UL was having fun. It's like Ellis kind of said, they have 6 games left and they're gonna go all out. Don't get me wrong we played awful, but there's something to be said about a team that deep with that kind of talent who has nothing to lose.

Other than a few Cooney 3's, that was the worst 2nd half I can remember all year. G, Mali, Lydon, TRob were all awful. DC actually was solid all game, I feel like he should have got more run.

Our rebounding left a lot to be desired.

Although the one time we did box out, UL just jumped over G, landed on his back, and G was called for the foul. Oh wellz.

Their big men are just better, stronger and more athletic.

What big men? Onuaku then who else? Stockman certainly isnt all that athletic. Ul just wanted it more. If pitt wants it more on sat The Cuse is back on the bubble

Not just the bigs. Their guards did whatever they wanted in terms of going wherever they wanted. Roberson was a no show on the boards, basically. When Frank out there with Roberson it is 3 on 5 on offense.

After onuaku, their guy who got the 2nd most rebounds was 6 6, Lee w 6 rebounds, hes a wing player. Onuaku (15 boards) almost single handedly dominated us tonite

He did seem rather passive all game compared to in other games. Then again it turned into a rout quickly. :(
It's a mystery. If I could stand to watch the game again so that I could keep my eye on Boeheim, I would. But I already deleted it, so . . . .

At the moment, we are all too preoccupied by the bad coaching of Williams. I just thought our coach seemed subdued. But maybe I'm wrong. I often am!

The worst part about tonight's game is that the board crazy will come out.
I do not want to be called "board crazy" but boy we did not show up tonight. Missed lay ups, missed free throws, passive defense, and turnover after turnover!!! Sure hope we got it out of our system and regroup for Saturday. Simply erased a piece of that buffer between us and the bubble. Lets Go Orange

I stand corrected--the board has been surprisingly tame since that debacle last night.

Honestly, I became engrossed by the Duke/Carolina game and then was so astonished by the ending that I kind of "forgot" about our debacle. I wonder if others here were distracted by the D/C game?

Yeah, last night was quite disappointing. With that being said, last night was arguably Louisville's best game all season and one of our worst. The outcome, a 14 point loss that could have been a lot more. I was actually surprised that we kept it that close.

Don't post much cuz I don't get to watch games all that often...but here's my view on last night:

1) disappointing - definitely (and frustrating)
2) Maybe JB shouldn't have pulled DC so early and then gone with Lydon for most of the game. I know it's worked lately but DC was actually doing a good job on the boards in the first 7-8 minutes and then he never really got back in the game until it was out of hand. Lydon just wasn't strong enough to deal with Onuaku...to state the obvious.
3) Franklin Howard was very good at protecting the ball (especially against the press) and delivering assists...if he could just make a couple of driving baskets he would be so much better. That and keeping his arms up on D...But mark my words...he will be a star for the Orange before he is finished.
4) G, Mal, and TR had poor games...but they happen. Would like to see G get the ball down low at times when Howard is in the game and let him overpower smaller guards. TR MUST rebound if he is to play...last night he didn't.
5) Cooney must at times beat his man off the dribble...just heaving up 3 pointers is too easy to predict and defend. Even when he makes a good percentage like last night, it doesn't help the overall offense as much as he could if he were dishing assists occasionally.

Still a believer in the team...and think they will beat Pitt on Saturday. Go Cuse!
