Benny, Jesse and Frank, when we have a lead. Frank and Benny looked extremely active against Wake. Don’t see why Frank can’t shift to a wing. Possibly even Symir with Buddy? Have to remember that defense can create offense too. As it used to around here…

Frank is NOT a 4. Period, full stop.

Even JB has said that, specifically.

Meahwhile, JBA (he's out now, I think Covid-related?) has actually played at the 4.
So that combo, w/ Jesse & Benny, could be a possiblity.

Once more, with feeling:

FRANK IS NOT A 4.

It’s glaringly obvious how weak Jimmy and Cole are on defense. And offensively Jimmy seems to be getting worse and worse. Let me ask you something. Did we question playing Arinze and Rick at the 4/5? Frank and Benny looked good…

And with all due respect to JBA, he should never sniff the floor before FA or BW at any position.

If you watched Pitt game, you‘d notice Cole was perfectly fine at guard in zone.

all things considered he’s honestly not awful on D at all. He’s battling double time for boards because our center is leaping out at 3s sometimes and the other forward simply can’t box out his zone a lot of the time.

It’s more Jimmy than Cole. But it was refreshing to see some active bodies for once. Makes you wonder what could be.

Considering who is at the top of the zone currently, yes. Any normal year he would be awful up there. But this year he’d be fine.

How big is this lead?
Cuz we still probably have to continue to score a little.

Benny, Jesse, Frank as an all-defense, run out the clock squad? Not sure I trust them to shoot FTs, either. Without checking the stats, I’d probably want Cole in there. Jimmy at the FT line doesn’t give me comfort.

Symir, Buddy, Benny, Frank, Jesse.

Play defense, rebound, feed the post, and run Buddy off screens all day.

Symir = Pace
Buddy = Gmac
Benny = Nichols
Frank = Forth/TRob
Jesse = Hakim

2004 late season reinvention to go on another sweet 16 run.

Slow guys who don’t play any defense = off the bench.

You have the wrong guys off the bench then. If your goal is Buddy and the 4 best defenders it’s Jesse, Cole, Joe and Benny.

Hmmm….I can live with that, if Joe keeps contesting shots like he did the last two games.

Since you bring it up, I would be curious to see those two in the lineup if we ever went to the 1-3-1 we flashed at the beginning of the year. Frank in the middle of the three and then Jesse roaming baseline.

I don’t think the lineup could log major minutes. Would love to see a press with Frank on the ball and Jesse back on D when we had too.

At 10-11, I’m channeling my George McDonald for the D. (Board cross-reference alert.)
