NCSU and Duke are both 4-0 and have higher ceilings because if they just go 4-4 in conference play they will have 8 win seasons which help recruiting. If we go 2-2 in non-conference games our ceiling is 6 or 7 wins because we won't be FSU or Clemson if we go 2-2 in non-conference games. So if we bake more losses into the non-conference schedule we have a lower ceiling to go 8-4 or better in consecutive years.
