Wow... SU Field Hockey is #2 seed in NCAA championship...

Figures Maryland is #1.

Edit: And the first 4 seeds are ACC teams. Does any other conference play Field Hockey? lol

Look at the brackets. Two Big 10 teams, the Ivy Champion, UConn, etc. It is a premier woman's sport (the only one that was played interscholastic when I was in HS). In the Directors Cup competition, it counts as much as football or men's basketball. Don't marginalize it.

I, for one, am extremely proud of the progress we've made in the Director's sports. I do think that we need to add ice hockey and baseball.

I wasn't marginalizing it. I've watched several of SU field hockey games over the years, and well aware of the strength of some of these teams (hence my comment about Maryland). My point is that the ACC is dominant in this sport, so much that it makes it look as if other conferences don't consider it a "premier" sport.

First we win the ACC championship in Men's Cross Country... and now we are #2 NATIONAL seed in Field Hockey. Go Orange!

"Yeah" for SU's field hockey team and the whole department.

"Ugh" for suathletics.com editing/proof reading ("games at the same sights.").

There will be 7 ACC schools in the round of 16. That's crazy.

If only GA Tech would play some more of SU's sports (field hockey, soccer, lacrosse), then I'd get to see them in person. Yes, I went to field hockey games when I was on the hill. Some games were actually played in he Dome back in my day.
