Class of 2027 - WR Donovan McNabb Jr (AZ) Offered | Syracusefan.com

Class of 2027 WR Donovan McNabb Jr (AZ) Offered

So help me god if he is a P5 prospect and doesn’t go to Syracuse I think I’ll have to permanently hang up my fandom. It’s bad enough the laundry list of legacies we already have that didn’t come here in the last 10-15 years.

Uhm, are we forgetting that Donovan has his daughter playing here currently???

I’ll be absolutely shocked if his son, with his own name sake, doesn’t come here

In the meantime, we have several years before that
I don’t take anything for granted with this program.

I mean, we had our first player worthy of wearing 44 in years that actually wanted to wear the number and it was held out until a kid that will never even play FBS football had a chance to graduate high school first. I have the utmost respect for Floyd but that ranks pretty high on the list of dumbest things I’ve seen as a Syracuse football fan.

That’s our program in a nutshell.

This tape is nice especially for a freshman. Brophy is a top program similar to WCAC

Yea big difference with Donovan vs. other alums. Both he and his wife have been involved on the BoT. They’re incredibly loyal. If his son doesn’t come here, I suspect it’ll be for a very specific reason and not because they don’t love Syracuse.

Offer him now. Could care less if he’s a high end D1 athlete or not. Scholarship count is shooting upwards of 100. Need him on the squad. I’d feel the same about Kiyan if he was a low end recruit.

The way we are treated by football alumni is a direct result of how poorly they are treated by the University. The general tendency with those who have sons that play is "here have some money but leave my kids alone"
Not the McNabbs

McNabb, Carmelo… any others that would hurt if their kids didn’t come?

GMac comes to mind…

What is the story really here? I recall that Floyd said he would love to see it, and that is why he wasn't keen on retiring it, but I don't recall that it was ever promised, or that it prevented it being given to Tucker. I think the real barrier to it going to Tuck was probably Konrad and Jim Brown, as well as Dino feeling it was where it belonged.

Seems a bit odd that HCFB, who apparently values and is a fan of SU history, hasn't at least made a token offer (even if he has been told McNabb Jr has no intention of coming here).

They are not even looking yet. I asked them in November. He just finished his Sophomore year. But I will tell you one thing about the McNabbs. Their kids will go where they want to go. Lexi was originally going to Buffalo, and she had chosen not to follow Coach Jack to Syracuse. The reason she switched was that she did not like the new Buffalo coach when she met her. The kids spent a lot of time in Syracuse though, so they have a comfort feeling. But I don't see their position and connection with Syracuse being the deciding factor, but just a slight help. Don Jrs. twin sister, Sariah, is also a talented softball player. They both also play basketball.
PS re Don Jr. I see he received an offer from University of Arizona a couple of days ago.
