CAPT. I would expect a better athlete as far as muscle tone, added muscle & weight. Conditioning is very important to the entire program. You have to run/jog at least a mile or two a day to get the most important muscle and organ "your heart" and lungs used to playing as many minutes as required w/o the need for a blow very often. It's called conditioning. But, the best way to get faster is to combine different exercises including weights. There is a good explanation of how to improve your time on YouTube. Google WR Chris Booker or type in how I trained for the forty yard dash (from a 4.8 to a 4.3 in six weeks). The program he explains starts with 1. squatting 2X your body weight 2. jumping 50 to 150 times a day for 3-5 days a week 3.knee over toe stretches 4. pull from hip/left foot hits and right foot goes off immediately. 5. stretch He also worked with a sprint coach. It will work if you put the time in. You have to look at the vvideo to get what I am writing about! Running with a parachute or someone holding you back with a harness will mentally prepare you to believe you can and will run faster. Leg and thigh presses will add to your belief that you are going to run faster. You can;t just run sprints and expect to be in the 4.4 range from a 4.7. It takes real work and commitment to get there but he can do it.
