So Andre Parker of Kent State picks up the muffed punt return 7 yards away from a TD for Kent State and runs the ball 63 yards in the wrong direction instead. He would've ran it in for a Towson safety except 2 Towson players tackled him at the 30 before he could do it - not to mention a lot of other Towson players tried to tackle him too.

Ultimately the play didn't count because you can't advance - or in this case, retreat - a muffed punt so Parker got credit for recovering a fumble at the 7 yard line. Kent State couldn't move the ball and settled for a field goal.

Funny stuff.

LOL, I love his reaction when he found out from his teammates he went the wrong way. I love college football.

This is the rare and very difficult to achieve QUINTUPLE FAIL!
1) Punt returner lets the ball hit him
2) The wrong way run
3) The officials not blowing the ball dead as soon as the kicking team recovers a muffed punt
4) Towson stops a guy running the wrong way
5) The announcers saying the ball is live, not knowing rule in #3

Maybe the officials have a sense of humor and wanted to see if he could make the end-zone?

i'm not sure what part of that play is the best. the kid running the wrong way, the other team tackling him, the utter confusion. it's pretty much awesome all the way around.

I love the fact that he gets up talking smack to the other team after the return. That's priceless!

Might as well have all three:

"What a happy fella he was- for an instant, anyway. It happens to the best of them. I still think you shouldn't 'be able' to fumble the ball unless you first have possession of it- or trying to- and touching the ball wihtout attempting to gain possession should be a delay of game penalty, not a fumble.

What's even more amazing is that he'd had better awareness, he probably would have scored a TD after retrieving the ball at the 7 yard line with nobody behind him.

Comedy of errors on that play.

Can't advance a muff

Don't worry those MAC officials are calling NFL games starting next Sunday.

I think there was a lot of right happening on that play, actually.

This reminds me of the time In pee wee I handed the ball off to the wrong team. Still haven't lived that down. My o line sucked.
