WVU leaving in 2012 suggests deal already in works for SU/Pitt

Not sure I have seen anyone touch on this, but I'm going to go out on a limb and say that maybe WVU is confident they will be out by 2012 because they know that a deal was being worked out between the Big East and Syracuse/Pitt.

I sounds like it may have been a slip of the tongue initially about WVU getting out sooner rather than later. You have to imagine that if something was in the works for SU and Pitt, WVU was in on those conversation up until at least last week.

Word on the street is 21M. I could see Marianatto telling Pitt and SU that the offer is not there until expansion occurs. He needs to get teams to sign up before he allows the mass exodus to happen.
