Noooooooooooo! Please don't go! I know its inevitable (and I'm actually in favor of it) but please give me one more season where I can go to an SU game 15 minutes from home. Please!! These few years of UC and Syrancuse being in the same conference have been great for my family. Its honestly all my kids know and will be very disappointing to them. Actually they'll still expect to go and care less about me having to drive 5-8 hours for a game.

I think it's ed that the Big East continues to hold us hostage after adding like two dozen teams. Hopefully this settlement leads to our ransom offer.

I think we'll have one more year with the Big East and then they'll let us leave a year early. By "let" I mean a much smaller fee than the $20MM+ WV just paid. In the meantime, this is gonna be a really ugly Football Schedule...especially since the one cool home game got moved to NYC.

As a penalty for leaving, the BE will make SU and Pitt play ALL away games next year. They will bill it as a farewell tour. The only exceptions will be the teams they will play twice. In that case, they will make them double bills at MSG.

Yeah but I'd get a football game next year and maybe a Louisville hoop game. UL is 90 minutes away so not really a road trip for me.

Didnt the ACC already release it's FB schedule??

There is no way Syracuse plays an ACC football schedule this coming season (2012). It's simply too late for that. The schedules are almost set. I also highly doubt we would play in the Big East in football and then ACC in basketball in the same school year. 2012-2013 calendar year. That means the earliest we will play football in the ACC is the 2013 season and 2013-2014 basketball season.

to answer my own question - The ACC schedule is not out yet...but it still seems like a longshot that they squeeze us in for 2012. We'll see - it certainly would be a much cooler FB schedule...at least until we start getting crushed by Fla St and Va Tech.
