Let's me make it clear that I much prefer the AEW product over the WWE. But their product, despite still being very good, has been declining in recent cycles because of Tony going with the "More is More" concept (Dynamite has had its worst programming in a while recently, and the last PPV was down in by AEW standards, despite being good). Too many wrestlers -- confusing story development, almost everybody (even strong characters) having their roles diminished or at times in a confusing or rushed role. I'll comment on more specifics in the AEW thread. The wrestling is still great even if a little too spotty. The run-ins abundant and some time confusing. Tony Khan had a fairly good "Chaotic" balance going back in 2021. Its just a little out of whack right now and his fetish for having every good wrestler in the world in his organization now doesn't help. Trying to cram a bunch of new NJPW wrestlers isn't really helping bring back visibility to some wrestlers and bring some more sense to things. But still despite all the above, no doubt current AEW is still a very tolerable product. WWE is not.. WWE probably hasn't had the right balance on any of their programs since about 2017 (maybe 2018). For a few years Smackdown was a very good 2 hour program -- stopped being good some years back before the pandemic. I have given up on WWE TV programming being good anytime soon.
