Five repeat events from the 2014 schedule and the addition of the NCAA-Pre National race in Louisville, Kentucky highlight the 2015 cross country schedule. The Harry Lang Invitational at Colgate kicks things off for the Orange on Sept. 5, in a season where the men's program is coming off its best finish at the NCAA Championships in nearly 60 years. Syracuse won both the men's and women's races handily last season, by sweeping the scoring positions in both races. Next up is the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational at Penn State, where both teams took second last season. The women's race is set to get underway at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 11, with the men's race taking place shortly after. After a one-week layoff, the Orange will head to the Coast-to-Coast Battle in Beantown on Sept. 25, where the men's program turned in a second-place finish behind All-American Martin Hehir, who took fourth at the event. The women took third behind Jessie Petersen's 10th-place finish. The 'Cuse men will look to defend their title at the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational on Oct. 16 in an event that saw them take down some of the nation's highest ranked teams and catapult to No. 2 in the USTFCCCA rankings after last year's win. Hehir took seventh overall at the highly competitive meet last season, with Syracuse showcasing its depth, finishing with 85 points in a dominant performance. Margo Malone led the 'Cuse women, crossing the line in 23rd. The same weekend as the Wisconsin Adidas Invitational will see another group headed to the NCAA Pre-Nationals race in Louisville, Kentucky. The race will give members of the Orange an opportunity to compete on the course that the NCAA Championships will be run on. Syracuse will then close its regular season at the John Reif Memorial, hosted by Cornell. Halloween will mark the beginning of the championship season, with the teams headed to Florida State to compete in the ACC Championships. The men's team is looking for its third-straight ACC title and sixth conference championship in seven seasons. The NCAA Northeast Regional is Nov. 14, where the Syracuse men will once again be able to defend its title and both teams can earn a berth into the NCAA Championships, which are eight days later at Louisville. The Syracuse men finished 5th at last year's NCAA Championships, its best finish since 1957, and the women finished 24th.
