You can't make this up, truth can be stranger than fiction

How does that happen? Seriously if I am a father of a child on that AAU team, I flip my lid at the people who decided to hire Rice.

Most youth organizations do background checks. Obviously this one did not.

Unreal.
Nothing like throwing a little teaching in with your physical and emotional/ verbal abuse. How would you like to be this guys wife or kids? Donnie McPherson could use this guy as an example.

I was listening to an ESPNinterview locally in Ithaca a few weeks ago. They had a former Rutgers player that transferred to IC. In the interview from my recollection he said that practices with Rice weren't that bad and the media was making more of it than should be. Surprise, surprise. The media running with a story.

Not really too surprised. I'm sure these parents are thrilled that their little princesses are getting coached by a former NCAA D1 head coach. It will certainly help them develop into players capable of getting a college scholarship which is what the AAU investment is all about. There are many benefits of youth select sports like AAU. There are also many detriments that some people refuse to acknowledge. Over zealous coaches are one of them and are more prevalent in select sports than in regular youth leagues. What is hard to believe is that Mike Rice has the nerve to show his face on the sidelines in public so soon. Obviously not a person who feels he did anything wrong.

I would not be at all surprised if this is a set up. Chances are one little girl gets provoked at all and a dad with an agenda will UNLOAD on Rice.

I thought most AAU teams were put together by a coach or group of guys who did the coaching. Rice would not have been "hired", he would have recruited other players for the team. The parents put up a lot of money for AAU, so they have a lot riding on the line.
