Honestly it is crazy how Division 1 FBS postseason is structured. They claim a playoff would affect students/athletes academics. Well I guess the players at New Hampshire or Villanova's academics don't matter. FCS has a 24 team playoff and the champion is decided. The regular season is not diluted because if you win your conference you get a bid into the playoffs. Thus your conference games matter. If you play tough non-conference games it gives you leeway to get an at-large bid.

The Bowl system and non-profits that run these bowl games are such a monopoly its a joke. Shouldn't the postseason be a reward for success and not a participation trophy for being decent.

7 of the top 8 seeds still in the final 8 - could have just as easily limited it to an 8 team FCS playoff.

I think an 8 team playoff is perfect for FBS - looking forward to that eventuality.

in the old days, we'd be freaking out over which 2 of bama, fsu and oregon makes it

it's progress to be wondering about OSU, TCU, and Baylor.
