As the final seconds ticked off the clock, chants of "we're number one" spread throughout the Carrier Dome as Syracuse routed the George Washington Colonials in front of 23,226 Orange-clad fans this past Saturday night.
Few enjoyed the victory more than ten local children from "Imagine Syracuse," who attended the game with chaperones from Syracuse University's Zeta Beta Tau Fraternity.
Imagine Syracuse provides free after-school arts and enrichment to more than 150 children between the ages of 5 and 14 years old in the Near Westside neighborhood-- the 9th poorest census tract in the COUNTRY.

Marc Lomasky, Vice President of Zeta Beta Tau, launched "Hoops 4 Kids" to give needy children the opportunity to watch their basketball heroes at SU home games. The idea was inspired by fellow Orange fan Menotti Minutillo Jr., and developed with assistance from our very own Sean Keeley. Zeta Beta Tau's "Omicron chapter" raised money to provide Imagine Syracuse with the tickets.
The ZBT brothers provided the kids with food and beverages while leading them in spirited chants. It was a special event, and the important start of an effort to breed the next generation of Orange fans.
