Jordan regional game

We are recruiting Diallo right? Please say yes

No. That ship left port a long time ago.

Personally, I thought Briscoe looked head and shoulders more offensively talented than anyone else on the floor... Know it is just an exhibition, but...
Very Pearl Washington esq... Can score against anyone out there.

Malachi was named Jersey Gatorade Player of the Year over Briscoe.

I know it was an All-Star game but it was tough to watch Briscoe's straight up refusal to pass the ball. I almost felt bad for everyone else on the East team the last 5 minutes of the game.

Diallo was dominate and Briscoe refused to pass it to him, going as far as to wave him away so he could hero it up. I wonder if it will play into diallo's decision?

That may be.
But my eyes tell me differently...
Truth in advertising - first time I've watched Briscoe play...
And yes - he is a ball hog and was auditioning out there...

As usual, the guy who is our guy just seems to be floating around and enver seems to get the ball. I thought Malachi made a couple good plays- a nice bounce pass and a hustle play to save the ball, (I was out of the room for the three). But the "wow" factor went to Diallo, and Briscoe, who looked like a selfish player.

It was a surprisingly good game for an All-Star game, with actually defense being played and both teams clearly trying hard to win it at the end.

I think the strength of next year's team is that we won't be relying on any of the freshmen to be good immediately. I don't think any of them will start. I think they will be able to come along at their own pace. Last year we started two freshmen and a sophomore who had played little.

I'm looking forward to when Richardson, Howard and Battle will be our backcourt, (if they will all be here at once. Three tall combo guards.

Briscoe is a beast! Sure fore nba kid. But tonight he refused to pAss and it was annoying

Briscoe is not a sure-fire NBA kid. Lacks the extra gear that most NBA teams are looking for in a point guard. His individual skill is good but he's also extremely selfish.

If we are not counting on any freshmen to be "good immediately", we are in for the longest season in decades. Tell me how we are even an average team if all the freshmen are sub-par.

Well, where do you see the minutes?

I'm not knocking him, but if Joseph, Cooney and G are getting 35 plus minutes a game, where does he play?

He'll only play a lot if Joseph plays poorly, but Howard could steal those minutes.

I say Malachi plays 5-7 minutes a game.
IMO he's gonna push Cooney and Joseph for minutes. Don't see Joseph being a 35 mpg guy. Cooney will still be over 30 though. I like a lineup that features G, Cooney and "Malicious". I see ~20 mpg for Richardson.

I can't speak for swc but I think this team can be successful without any of the frosh being major contributors/double figure scorers. The team may well rely on one to be a starter (Diagne), one to be the 6th man (Mal), and another to be a regular in the rotation (Lydon).

I was thinking more the World B. Free, or Isaiah Rider

If Joseph and Cooney play more than 35 minutes a game next year, Malicious is getting Boeheimed.

He will get Boeheimed if he floats around the court, especially on the defensive end. He will need to demonstrate a lot more hustle if he hopes to contribute at the D-I level.

WARNING: DO NOT JUDGE A PLAYERS DEFENSE BY A PERFORMANCE IN A WORTHLESS,BALL-HOG,LOOK AT MEEE SHOWCASE THAT IS A HIGH SCHOOL ALL STAR GAME
Questions were raised about his effort while playing in high school, also. We'll see how he, and the other frosh-to-be, take to intense college coaching.

Wasn't Greg Paulus the national GatorAde football player of the Year? That and $2.50 will get you a ride on the NYC subway.
Bit of an overstatement, but yeah sometimes things don't always work out for highly regarded guys as they move to a higher level. Of course, the last several guys to win the award in NJ included Karl Towns, Kyrie Irving, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist and some kid named Tyler Ennis.

You're seeing what I saw in person a few times and also on TV. I said as much two months ago on the recruiting board and underwear got tied up in bunches. I see folks speculate on MR's playing time and where on the floor he plays. To your point if he doesn't pick up the intensity level in a material way then he'll enjoy a good view from the bench. And as for position there is no way at this time or any time soon that he has the handle to be a major D-1 PG. And he is just not aggressive enough to be a serious rebounder down low in the zone. Don't get me wrong - he has talent with a very nice stroke from 3 and an NBA type body. But he plays with a very deficient motor and if folks can't see that then I don't know what they're watching.
