The IGGY AWARDS COMMITTEE believes it's time to roll out the 13th ANNUAL IGGY AWARD categories. We have a game scheduled in a week, so just in case it happens, we better be prepared for it. It's been over eight months since our last game and with no preseason reports and no exhibition games, many of us will be going into this blind. We did get the Syracuse.com preview and the Daily Orange preview and SWC's great preview but can we verify first hand that Marek has really gained 20 pounds as has been reported. And is it muscle gain or is it Covid gain?
Since the world has been upside down with no end in sight, the IGGY COMMITTEE has recognized that many things can happen over the next four or five months. Due to this the IGGY COMMITTEE has taken COVID precautions and has adjusted the categories to be prepared for whatever happens. So without further ado, here are the categories and please read carefully as some of the categories have changed. So please make your selections before Friday, November 27th at noon (unless the game is cancelled and the cutoff will be moved to noon of our actual first game or until the IGGY COMMITTEE feels the time is right to close the entries). After the categories is the recap of the 12th ANNUAL IGGY AWARDS, Let's give all of those winners some recognition now, because as you all know, there is nothing harder in this world than winning back to back IGGY AWARDS.
Thank you all who participate and good luck!!!
1) ACC record (by percent): Due to the possibility of cancelled games we are picking by percent. If you think we will win all of the ones we play, which could be anywhere from 1 to 20 games, then put down 100%. If you think we win half our games then 50%. You guys can figure out the rest. We will not be doing non conference games this year so you don't have to worry if we are going to beat Georgetown and Rutgers or even get a chance to play them. And if by slim chance all of the games are cancelled then we will postpone the awards until next year, or fill them up with your favorite adult beverage and shed some tears in them.
2) Post season record. Put whatever you feel is going to happen. There are a lot of options that can happen for the ACCT and for the NCAA/NIT/CBI, etc. Whoever guesses closest to what reality brings us in March will take home an IGGY AWARD. Creativity counts.
3) Leading scorer (points per game). Put down the number and then choose either Buddy or the field as your winner.
4) Leading rebounds per game. Number and player.
5) Leading minutes per game. Number and choose Buddy or the field
6) List Buddy's ranking in all of D-1 in total number of made 3's. So if you feel that Buddy will make more 3's than anyone else in all of college D-1 then you would rank him 1st.
7) List JGIII's ranking in made FT % in D-1.
8) Total attendance of all home games (not average): It could be zero. It could be more than zero. What do you think it is going to be?
9) TIEBREAKER: Who is going to lead the team in made 3 point shooting % this season. Give me a % and who you think it will be. There are no minimum per game so it could be a walk on who shoots 1 for 1 for the season or a great shooter who hoists up 150 of them.
