2022 Yankees Season

Is Torres gonna be moved this off-season so Peraza and Volpe can play the middle-infield going forward?

Just don’t know if cole has what it takes to win the critical postseason games. Strange to say for someone who leads the league in Ks, but expectations are sky high with him on this team.

Rays and Jays play each other 8 more times this season. Rays also have 6 against the Astros.

Yanks win those last 2 easily and all the pieces are coming back.

I think the storm has been weathered.

Catching the Astros (6 back in 20 games) is doubtful and an unfortunate casualty of the slide.
Hopefully by the time they get to that makeup series in Texas they've clinched the division and locked in the #2 seed so they can run AAAA lineups out there in those 4 games.

John: "Can we finish the game in a hour before the heavy rain comes?"

Suzyn: "Sure, just as soon as the get Pivetta out."

Clinching the division will definitely lock in the #2 seed. Cleveland is 9 games back of the Yankees with 20 to play. That would require a festivus miracle.

Interesting thing is that MLB is locking in seeds, no re-seeds. All 3 wild card teams are better than Cleveland. But if Cleveland can win 2 of 3 at home, that kinda works out better for the Yankees.

Unless the midges are biting.

The last Yankee to win the Rookie of the Year and MVP was Thurman Munson. Should have been Jeter that one year but haters gonna hate

Bieber and McKenzie could be tough in a short series. Of course, all for the playoff teams have a couple of scary starters.

Cashman EDIT and Hal - should have signed him prior to the season and gave him the captain title. Now it's going to cost even more big dollars but how do they let him walk to another team if he beats the HR title and wins MVP? JFC

The Yankees’ offer was reasonable at the time by most accounts. I don’t know that “captain” means much in the negotiations.
