Matt Rhule, who left Temple to coach Baylor in order to challenge himself and coach at the highest levels of college football (and increase his salary by at least 4x) does not like this.

AT what point does a school realize they won't sustain or take part in this nonsense? There ar players in the NFL not earning 6 or 7 million a year.

So basically, if you're a good quarterback and you're making less than $1.5 million off NIL at your school, you're crazy not to enter the portal. If you're a great quarterback making less than like $5 million, you, too are crazy not to enter the portal.

Seems like the proper path at this point is to start at the school that gives you the best chance to get on the field right away... prove yourself worthy of the big NIL money, then enter the portal and cash in. That's going to be more lucrative faster than waiting behind someone.
