I continued to be beguiled by Cashman's decision-making. Sorry, but I DO NOT WANT Soto. The asking price is far too high for a 1 year rental and the team has numerous other large holes. The team should be rebuilding from within.

They gave up nothing and the suspicion is that Verdugo gets flipped to the Padres for Soto ... but Verdugo starting in LF in 2024 is not ideal. He's a moderately expensive 4th OFer type. Pros: he hits lefty, walks a bit, strikes out not so much, and ... that's about it. Cons:
