Class of 2021 C Jack Hollifield (NC) Portal from Virginia Tech

Hit the portal today, backup C at Virginia Tech. 2 years remaining. May be nothing but he’s followed by Cuse FB Recruiting and Kyle McCord on Twitter.

We did not offer him out of high school and he doesn’t have a Syracusefan thread so these appear to be new follows. And I’m really not sure why McCord would be following him at all. The McCord follow is particularly strange because he only follows about 350 people on Twitter.

Anyhow, maybe something, maybe nothing. No offer reported or anything like that.

No surprise he didn't have a SU thread, Babers didn't offer a lot of kids he should have.

Most of the school websites don’t list 2023 activity yet. But this is what I found in one article about his entry to the portal:

“Hollifield redshirted in 2021 and then became a regular for the Hokies on special teams over the past two seasons while being the backup center, though he played only in garbage time situations at that position. He will have two years of eligibility remaining at his next destination.”

Sounds like their #1 C pretty much had the position on lockdown. Hollifield’s brother is a former OL starter for Virginia Tech.
