Clean energy is coming. The question is how long will it take to get here.

It's here now. France gets 70% of its energy from nuclear.

It's here now ... wind and solar. You just have to pay a lot more for it.

But assuming a basic scientific breakthrough is not policy. It's a dream.

The US public has little understanding of all of this. It's too technical and complicated. They'd prefer to believe that all technical problems can somehow be solved. They cannot.

Nothing is more entertaining than reading the English majors in the Washington Post opine about the state and future of U.S. Manufacturing. They also believe in the eventuality of clean energy.

There will be breakthroughs in fuel cells and/or photovoltaics or some other technology we know little or nothing about right now.
