He plays with total abandon. He is a fun player to watch and to root for.
Unfortunately, that translates to playing dumb in terms of his own body. I have never seen a QB play and do so little to protect himself since the Joe Kapp days. It must be some sort of a macho thing with him. It is not bad luck that his season's always end early.
The blurred vision could very well have come from a couple of the plays where he took blows to the head and not a finger to the eye as is the present "company" line.
There were two head hits in particular that i remember. One was a late hit, so not his fault. he seemed Ok after that one. The other was when he just lowered his head went into a d player helmut first and ended up being flipped and landing on his head. He has got to be smarter than that. Plenty of other plays where he took or even initiated contact. i do not remember a single slide he took in the game. maybe none in his entire career.
Anyways, it would not surprise me if he misses a week or two and DiVito takes the job ala Lou Gehrig.
DiVito has earned the start against UConn. No need to rush eric back.
We will need Dungey before this season is through, but for his own safety, his PT needs to be limited.
Not sure if ED had enough talent to be drafted, but that will not happen in large part because of his injury history.
