Welcome to Canada Day!
Canada Day (French: Fête du Canada) is the national day of Canada. A federal statutory holiday, it celebrates the anniversary of July 1, 1867, the effective date of the Constitution Act, 1867 (then called the British North America Act, 1867), which united the three separate colonies of the Province of Canada, Nova Scotia, and New Brunswick into a single Dominion within the British Empire called Canada.[1][2] Originally called Dominion Day (French: Le Jour de la Confédération), the holiday was renamed in 1982, the year in which the Canadian Constitution was patriated by the Canada Act 1982.[3] Canada Day celebrations take place throughout the country, as well as in various locations around the world, attended by Canadians living abroad.[

Syracuse football prospect cuts list to seven, commitment coming soon (itlh; Mlodzinski)
Jason Henderson, an inside linebacker in the class of 2021 has included Syracuse football in his top seven. Here’s how he can fit in with the Orange.
Three-star rated prospect Jason Henderson has included Syracuse football in his final seven, with a decision looming. Currently, all signs point to the Orange.
Henderson, who is given the three-star attribution by 247sports, is a class of 2021 linebacker from Milford, Pennsylvania. At 6-foot-1, 210 pounds, he has a slimmer frame than most players at his position, which has impacted his recruiting to this point. But for Syracuse, this means that he could be a diamond in the rough.
I would like to thank all of the coaches who have recruited me up to this point for the opportunities that have given me but with that being said these are the schools I would like to focus my interest in!
— Jason Henderson (@JasonHe15613474) June 28, 2020
Henderson announced his decision of seven schools on Twitter on June 28. Syracuse stands out as the only power conference school, among other FBS competitors in Buffalo, Old Dominion, Temple, and Florida Atlantic. FCS programs Villanova and James Madison are also listed in his mix, while according to his Twitter page, Marshall has recently offered him a scholarship.

Syracuse football gains analysts’ predictions for 3-star QB Justin Lamson (itlh; Adler)
Syracuse football target Justin Lamson, a top-20 dual-threat quarterback in the 2021 class, is aiming to announce on July 3.
Syracuse football could find itself in store for a nice July 4th holiday weekend if some recent projections about 2021 three-star quarterback Justin Lamson hold up.
The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Lamson, a rising senior at Oak Ridge High School in El Dorado Hills, Calif., is slated to reveal his collegiate destination on July 3, according to a report by Jody Demling, the publisher of Cardinal Authority.
Demling’s article notes that Lamson is apparently down to a trio of finalists in Louisville, the ‘Cuse, and Boise State. We recently penned a column in which Lamson had unveiled a top four of the Cardinals, the Orange, San Jose State and Wyoming, although Boise State had entered the fray after doling out a late scholarship offer to the talented 2021 prospect.

Clemson's Travis Etienne Could End Up Best ACC Has Ever Seen (SI; Senkiw)
for gbo
Mark Packer, host of “Off Campus” on SiriusXM and “Packer and Durham” on ACC Network, recently released his ACC All-Decade Team.
Packer had two former Clemson players (quarterback Deshaun Watson and receiver Sammy Watkins) on his offensive squad and four Tigers (defensive linemen Shaq Lawson, Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence and linebacker Isaiah Simmons) on his defensive team.
These lists are fun to pick apart and make for great summer fodder, especially while we continue to deal with a global pandemic.
But these also raise thoughts of snubs and debates of players who deserve more credit, and looking at Packer’s choice for running back of the 2010s, it raises some questions concerning a certain Clemson record-holder.

One hundred and twenty-four former Syracuse players released a statement on Wednesday condemning systemic racism in the wake of the deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery and Breonna Taylor.
Orange alumni dating back to the graduating class of 1961 put their names behind the statement, which also called out SU for its response to recent on-campus incidents including racist graffiti and the shouting of racial slurs.
