G league combine

Grandpa mintz can be a huge pain in the ass while also being right about some things at the same time. They’re not mutually exclusive.
Sounds like Grandpa Mintz.

Changed his game up because he knows that's what the scouts are looking for, and he has to do whatever to keep his pro ambitions alive.
gots three former syracuse guards on staff (4 if you count last yr) and not one of them was able to deliver this exact message all season. "you gotta change your game" . amazing. good luck to judah going forward. the kid has skills. now he's got to learn his role and how to best utilize them. sorry it didn't happen here.

They delivered that message repeatedly. The NBA gave him that message last off-season. Think about that when you reevaluate his play from last year as well as his attitude and behavior.

The only thing I'm trying to figure out was who exactly was Judah supposed to pass to when he penetrated this season? Who were the open cutters he ignored? The Judah that played in the combine last year was not the same player that played for SU this past season. It may say more about the other players on the court than Judah.

Not saying you are wrong but there were plenty of moments, especially early in the year, where he ignored teammates that were open. Not missed them, just ignored them and did his thing.

Maliq, repeatedly,

Go back and watch when Q played 2 man game with Maliq and watch when Judah played. Judah looked to drive and shoot/draw a foul first, every time, regardless if Maliq was open on the roll

At times he literally pointed and told teammates where to stand on the perimeter and ball-watch while he did his iso-thing... And if he got shut down underneath, then whined to the same players for not getting open to help him and/or whined to the refs over uncalled contact.

Good luck to him, but not gonna miss his style of selfish play and am glad he's moving on.

Mintz auditioned for the NBA last year, came back to college and really did not show much of any changes or upgrade to his game from the prior year. I'm assuming this is the thought and why he wasn't invited to the Combine. I still think he could surprise and be drafted in the 2nd round or be offered a 2 way contract if not drafted, if he presents well and impress teams during workouts and interviews. The hard way, but not impossible being that he is a talent that just needs to be molded.

Mintz may as well have his agent start contacting teams overseas. It's pretty obvious at this point that he needs to get more experience and improve his skills if he ever wants a chance at the NBA.
