Not sure what it is like in Syracuse but at a lot of places with Div 1 football programs head coaches are the continuous recipients of gifts. When they do spend their own money, the more expensive items are typically heavily discounted...It is good to be the king!

I think Tim Green wrote something similar in one of his books. He noted that when he was a nobody and had no money, he couldn’t afford anything. When he was playing well and making good money on the Falcons and could afford whatever he wanted, everywhere he went he got huge discounts or others would pick up his tab.

It is bizarre that the more money you have, the more discounted and free stuff you have access to.
