MLB postseason thread

You just like getting lost in Andy Pettite's eyes.
in all seriousness, its what going on behind those eyes and what they are looking at, that can get 56k to collectively hold their breath in the Stadium and millions more at home...

without a horse in this race, I will just enjoy the moment(s)

when you are a hardcore fan of a baseball team, playoff games are simply 9 innings of torture.

If you get ahead, you can't run out a clock, you can't take the ball away from the other team's offense, you are more subject to a complete lucky bS play completely turning the game around (such as broken bat bloop double),

if you get behind, you feel like you are climbing up a a hill protected by a Zombie army that will slowly choke the life force out of you, one or two outs at a time. You cant "open it up" and "take chances" to get back in the game, in fact you have to play MORE conservative when behind. once again, you cant "try harder" and just "take the ball away" from the other team...and worst is the feeling of impending doom if the opposition has some bullpen monster like andrew miller looming in the shadows to sniff out any hope of survival

They sure are, as great as the Mets run was last year, I think it took a couple of years off my life.

I get the most nervous when we have a lead and we don't add to it...and we don't to it...and we don't add to it...:oops:Oh Lord

that's too bad.

some of the best sports drama is in baseball.

I still get butterflies just looking at this picture...

Ah, THAT'S what you call it in front of the kids. ;)

Madden is an idiot ... Keep him in

Only reason he didn't get out of fifth was poor no called strike by ump

Better not bite him in the ass here

Edit:

And it did

Yeah. Way over thought it.

Plus, Lester is incredibly bad with a man on first. If you bring him in, bring him in to start the inning.

W.T.F. was that, Joe? Cruising, up 5-1, they can hardly touch your starter, two out and you pull him for a starter (read: not a reliever) who can't hold runners? Really? Complete bone head move.

The Indians have had a great run but this blows. They had 1 quality starter and an elite bullpen to beat Boston and Toronto.
The Cubs roster is miles better.

Unreal game. Just when you think Cleveland is dead they rise from the grave.

Really unlucky bounces tonight for the Cubs and questionable timing for pitching changes

I live in akron so all cleveland fans here... Can't stand this

Wow. You do Not safety squeeze with one out, a drawn in infield and a sac fly able to win you a championship. Wow.

Edit: and with 2 strikes!!!

Good grief. Did Maddon put the bunt on there?
