New DB Coach: Joe Schaefer [Official]

Don’t know much about him but I do like that he has defensive coordinator experience. I think that will be beneficial when working alongside DC Robinson in his first year as a stand-alone DC. Good to have some experienced guys on staff. Him being a recruiting coordinator in the past is also intriguing.

Robinson will Co DC with Wright

So is Jordan Barber going to be our strength coach? Been waiting on that one to be made official.

Sounds like a solid addition and a guy who's worked his way up the coaching ladder well.

Was Director of Scouting at Iowa State a while back in addition to his DB experience. Also grew up in Ohio, played and coached multiple levels in Ohio including winning a HS state title as a coach at Benedictine in Cleveland. Ohio recruiting specialist I would assume.

In 1988 my high school made the playoffs for the first time in school history (I was a scrub WR on the team). AP had us ranked No.1 in the state in our class. We torched the first team we played in the playoffs, then met Benedictine up in Toledo. It was a frigid night. The field was literally frosting over. Didn't matter to Benedictine. They were on another level and kicked our a$$. Faster, bigger, stronger than any team we had played that year. Hit like tanks. I still remember my offensive coordinator looking at me in the fourth (the game was practically over) to flag me in and I was like "Nope".
