Garden City, N.Y. - Adelphi University Director of Athletics and Recreation, Danny McCabe announced today that Pat McCabe has been tabbed as new head coach of the women's lacrosse program. McCabe comes to Garden City with a tremendous background on the collegiate, professional and international stage and will lead the Panthers in defense of their 2014 NCAA Division II National Championship.
A National Hall of Fame Defenseman, McCabe, started his illustrious playing career at Elmont Memorial High School, where he led the program to a New York State Championship. In 1987 he would matriculate at Syracuse University, where he would win three NCAA Division I National Championships, earn four United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association All-American honors and the 1990 NCAA Defensive Player of The Year award.
