That's sad. Hill Street Blues was appointment TV when I was in grad school. RIP, Steven Bochco.

My parents watched Hill Street Blues (and St Elsewhere, but that wasn't Bochco) every week growing up and I can remember hearing both of those classic openings play on the tv as I was falling asleep growing up. Both were great.

Bocho and Steven Spielberg did some of their earlier work on one of my favorites - Columbo.

NYPD Blue is still one of my top series of all time. RIP Mr. Bochco.
