SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The No. 14 Syracuse University men's rowing team will open its spring season against No. 11 Wisconsin on Saturday morning at the Cayuga Lake Inlet in Ithaca, N.Y. The race was moved from the Onondaga Lake Outlet in Liverpool, N.Y. due to inclement conditions.
Saturday's race marks the Orange's first race of the spring racing season. The varsity eight crew was ranked No. 14 nationally in the Preseason USRowing Collegiate Poll and has held onto that position in each of the next two ranking releases. Wisconsin's varsity eight crew ranks three spots ahead in the latest poll release.
Four races will be held on Saturday morning blocks from the campus of Cornell University. Competition will begin at 8:45 a.m. with the varsity eight race. The second varsity eight competition will follow 20 minutes later, while the third varsity eight race will be held at 9:25 a.m. Racing will conclude at 9:45 a.m. with the fourth varsity eight competition.
