Notre Dame is 2-5 with losses to #17 Stanford, #32 NC State, #41 Texas, #59 Duke, and #61 Michigan State. Their only wins are #75 Syracuse and a #123 Nevada. Yet they are the 43rd best team in the country.

Based on our jump this week, the good news for ND is that if they manage to beat VA Tech they could still finish the year ranked in the top 25.

Even though ND has a terrible record, I think you would be very hard-pressed to find 42 teams better than them. Every single one of their losses was by a TD or less.

Nobody would question NC State at #32 if they had a functional kicker

not sure they beat nd if the monsoon hadnt come though. but a flip of the nd/clem wins might have moved them up even more.
