Spitt on Pitt Postgame...

When Dino isn't involved in any play calls things usually go well.
Give Dino a job like JB as a promoter of SU, and get a new Head Coach.
The team deserves a bowl game, they put up with Dino's bonehead actions all year.
Beck and Dino were the coaches who put the offense and players who ran it together. Starting on Monday. By Wednesday they had bought in and they're on the way to the stadium.

If you think otherwise you are totally mistaken.

Dino being heavily involved in the offensive game plan seems to always result in disaster. No wonder Dr. Bob moved to NC State. Beck’s gameplan today was brilliant.

And you know this how?

I suspect you don’t know.

You simply don’t know what you don’t know, but by all means keep disparaging a man based on facts you don’t know. Bravo.

Yeah. Not sure what Narduzzi game planned for all week?

CDRW showed nothing and was hurt at end of game.

Shrader was hurt and missed last week.

So, you prepped for an aerial assault?
I thought most schools have at least 4 quarterbacks. Why do we have only two?

Wildhack‘s job isn’t even remotely in jeopardy nor should it be. I’m sure he also knows how to maneuver. I find it weird that people are constantly calling for him to be fired. Also he’s an athletic director, why would he be fired? No idea

I know that, and I don’t know what his annual goals are or his stretch goals, or who reviews him, but he’s allowing the football program to be run into the ground. Revenue assuredly has to be down.

Since he stated bowl games are the minimum requirement he’s kind of stuck.

So, he’s going into next year having to extend a guy who’s an 8 year loser because by golly 6-6 and the viagra bowl game is what we’re playing for. When Babers continues losing next year (especially with no QB) then Wildhack should be on the hook for the bad investment of extending him. Especially when it’s clear as day the guy can’t coach or develop a program. Belief with evidence, he’s consistently bad.

You guys are mellowing in your old age, I’m going in the opposite direction.

This is madness.

You can move the goalposts. Adjusting your thinking based on new knowledge is a positive character trait.
Sorry, but I don’t think that’s fair. Maybe it’s partly because I just think we’ll be in the same position a few years from now.

At first I thought he was just winded; the offense had some really long drives. Running play after play as a 320lb’er must be rough.

But I think you’re right that he was dinged up in the second half.

The young man is a warrior. He’s been through injuries that would have most people retired.

I got to hand it to Dino today. He reinvented himself again. No healthy passing QBs, so let's just ram Schrader, LQA, Villari from shotgun to the LOS.
I wonder if they could have done it last week? I was worried Pitt had it figured out in the 2nd quarter but the body blows accumulated for a win.

The problem is most people here don’t have the “knowledge” the think they have. Too often they move goal post based on their feelings or what the “think” they know.

Injuries change the game planing and injuries happen every week (CDRW).

Football is cyclical… teams built themselves to be fast and throw the ball all over the yard. So defenses then built themselves to defend that.

Eventually somebody’s going to build a monster power squad that can bulldoze everyone and the next trend will begin.

We have 4 quarterbacks. Shrader, Del Rio - Wilson, MacPhail and Davis. We can't recruit? Davis stats don't seem too bad:
High School: Gatorade Delaware Player of the Year ... Led the Cavaliers to an 11-1 record and the state championship as a senior … selected for the Under Armour All-America game … Completed 114-of-156 passes for 1,872 yards and 20 touchdowns through nine games … Also rushed for 638 yards and three scores on 46 carries under coach Zach Blum … One of six members of the prestigious Franklin D. Watkins Memorial Award Class of 2022 … Ranked as the top player in the state of Delaware, the 23rd-best quarterback prospect in the country and No. 378 overall by 247Sports Composite … Considered the second-best prospect in the state by Rivals … Rated No. 237 on the ESPN300.

If Davis is so great Bill then why wasn’t he on the field at QB instead of our starting tailback, a TE who hasn’t thrown a ball in ages and our starting QB who can’t throw a ball more than 5 yards due to injury?

No offense, but his HS laurels look nice on paper but they’re completely irrelevant now based on what we just watched. That tells you all you need to know.

I don’t know man, the service academies install it for a reason.

You missed my point. You’re responding about why we should run a scheme. I’m responding about the idea players aren’t going to just flock here b/c we’re running a particular scheme.

An athletic director is responsible for the entire athletic department. The crown jewels of the department under him have suffered. It is what it is. At any other school, there would be scrutiny. Here, we accept the bare minimum.

You know this how? As has been asked in other posts. We don’t know who designed the game plan.

Injuries also happen to every team. Other teams also change their gameplan and/or have other players to run a consistent game plan

How did Dan Villari running like he did get people thinking he’s going to be the QB next season? Our next QB is coming from the portal.
He’s gonna have some goal line packages would be crazy not to. We’d be letting him sling it if he were a P5 QB.

We should move on no matter what.
Could be like going from 6-6 P to 2-10 G Rob.

I’m in the move on camp as well but if we win the next 2 I might be able to look past that 5 game stretch.

I’m at the hotel and have far too many drinks in me right now but kudos to the players for bringing the physicalness and will to win along the line of scrimmage. That and Dan ”the man” Villari is one tough guy.
5-5 now with one more win to get bowl eligible. I never thought we would beat Pitt today especially like we did. I thought Pitt would dominate the line of scrimmage.

How many games did Beck lose us picking up such miserable transfer backup QBs?
