The all-inclusive Rutgers dumpster fire thread...

Nike Apparel deal is from being in AAC. It's not a Big Ten deal. 2017 deal will blow oranges out the water. Keep up the thread hate while we laugh all the en way to the bank.
Is the bank before or after last place?

In everything.

How long before you get a full share? And do you think you will still be in the conference when that time comes?

It's ridicule. Which is different from Hate or jealousy. There is no one anywhere jealous of Rutgers. Except poor UConn.

Sadder words have never been uttered.

The deal with Nike was finalized after the B1G announced jersey state was joining, so it wasn't like they had no position of power in the negotiations (and I commend the rather sizable increase they apparently did gain, cuz what they got in the deal before sucked). It should be noted that the only reason Butgers got even had the opportunity to earn that much was due to the previous deal with Adidas being being voided. Although it done so on the grounds of unfair labor practices overseas by their subcontractors and a student petition against Adidas, it seemed rather convenient, especially since they received a more realistic market value $11,000 from the previous contract in 2012. (And no, Im not extolling the usage of sweatshop type labor conditions).

"Jealousy?!?!?!?!? You have the coach we didn't want in a league many of us are glad we're not in."

Yeah, who would want to be in the Big Ten?

Given the choice of ACC or Big Ten, it's a no brainer for Syracuse to be with like-minded private schools.

You should be concentrating on the #3 this year. As in the goal to show improvement for combined conference wins of your two flagship programs during one academic year.

It's a mighty lift, I think you're up for the challenge.

You should read the many threads that were written prior to the ACC invite. The ACC is a better fit for Syracuse as SU is not a large, public, land grant university. Only Northwestern does not meet that characteristic of the B1G. Regardless, it cannot be denied that Syracuse was on the ACC radar for decades (Syracuse was offered when FSU was offered!) and the B1G at least considered Syracuse seriously enough to run straw votes (only UNL was offered at the time as they alone could garner enough support - so much for PSU's influence at the time).

Rutgers was never an ACC target and only got the B1G invite because the B1G snoozed and missed out on Mizzou (who begged to get in), Syracuse, Pitt. Only when PSU demanded eastern expansion did Rutgers get a serious look, and then only because the B1G could not get who they wanted. So close to 30 million people and yet no one cares about Rutgers.

Midwest = lame
Brand of football/basketball = thuggery
Being a Jr. Member vs full member from day one
1 time zone, closer travel
More recent national championships in football/basketball/lacrosse
Easier path to the playoffs
Worst ACC location: Pittsburgh or Blacksburg vs worst Big Ten location: Rutgers or Iowa

Just about the only thing that's worse for us is money and a) it hasn't stopped the ACC from winning championships and b) looks like we might catch up or at least close the gap. Also, not for nothing - we have a track record in turning $ into wins, unlike Rutgers.

Don't be too harsh, Cusian. Rutgers does have a track record that Syracuse will never beat. No other school has taken a half billion from Students and taxpayers and gotten such a bad return; facilities, coaching, wins, ADs, etc. It's possible that Rutgers could get their full BTN share and still have to borrow from students to make ends meet.

(Rutgers fans providing link to pseudo article "proving" Rutgers is making money hand over fist in three, two, one...)

In all fairness, the kid is from WV and his dad played for WVU, so he was gone as soon as he got the WVU offer. The NJ decommits usually happen later in the cycle when the big boys start knocking on their door.

And they reveal themselves to be the same old Rutgers.

The Associated Press has been ranking the best teams in college football since 1936. Over 80 years and 1,103 polls, a total of 165 schools have been ranked and 44 of them have been ranked No. 1 (Minnesota was the first).

To determine the all-time Top 25, the AP formula counted poll appearances (one point) to mark consistency, No. 1 rankings (one point) to acknowledge elite programs and gave a bonus for AP championships (10 points).

Just ahead of Dartmouth, and just behind Holy Cross...Spot on, imo.

Well, RU is ahead of chief rival Princeton which in historical perspective is a positive for them. And it looks like Vanderbilt holds the distinction of being the lowest ranked current P5 school on there. But yeah, far from impressive and certainly nothing to be envious of. I'd have to imagine schools like Oregon, Colorado and Virginia Tech shot up that list quite quickly over the past 30 years or so to be positioned where they are.
