That’s the third by that some don’t realize, it’s not just when an SU recruit/player gets Dohngraded, it’s the overinflation of Rutgers recruits/players that gives the perception that they are out recruiting SU.

Ironically, it fools noone but the taking heads and the internet bloviators. The coaches who know these kids and everything about them do not pursue overrated Rutgers' recruits. You don't see Um, PSU, tOSU, Wiscy, UNL, etc al., pursue the overhyped kids. Even the lower conferences fail to follow Shady recruits as a general rule.

If you see a Rutgers recruit with legit offers from other P5 programs, then you can believe the hype may be worth looking into to.

You are a high school kid, at practice or playing a game. You are excited as hell that you are being recruited. You see a helicopter pulling up, your anticipation is killing is you. Is it Ryan Day? Mike Norvell? Jim Harbaugh? Lincoln Riley? Out comes a bunch of coaches, you aren’t familiar with them and see a Red R on their shirt…it’s Greg Schiano. All of the sudden recruiting isn’t that fun anymore and it’s just disappointing. You end up committing to Albany because you want a chance to win double digit games. Greg Schiano then goes on camera and says you didn’t like his intense practices and want it bad enough.
