Last year the Pirates beat the Tar Heels 55-31 at Keenan. Vewry interesting.

What is ECU's record and who have they played other than the Hokies? VT got more votes in the poll so the ACC has a better "standing" than the USA conference. ECU has a heck of a schedule OOC.

The Pirates are a very interesting program.

They will destroy Yukon on Thursday, October 23rd.

North Carolina is the best team in NC this year. I had them going 10-2 in the preseason. Last year UNC started 1-5 and finished 7-6. I think if people look at VPI after they win big games they have lost 4 of the 5 games the following week. I like UNC to win in Greenville 24-17.

I don't share that opinion of the Heels - They go down 36-24.

ECU's QB is very good and the Pirates torched UNC in Chapel Hill last year. That said, UNC is talent-rich and the Heels have had two weeks to prepare for this game. I'm not guaranteeing a UNC win...just saying, don't be surprised if it happens.

Of UNC, Duke, and NC State, the UNC/ECU game will be the first game involving the three North Carolina ACC schools against a quality opponent. NC State has beaten Georgia Southern, Old Dominion, and South Florida. UNC has beaten Liberty and San Diego State. Duke has beaten Elon, Troy, and Kansas. Of all those games, the Kansas game is the most impressive, but Kansas is still lousy. Hard to determine who the "best" is until these schools play somebody, and UNC will be doing exactly that this weekend. NC State faces off against Presbyterian (lol) while Duke hosts Tulane (meh).

Carden punches it in from a yard out and it's 63-27, 11:07 3Q. ECU has 687 yards, more than any Carolina opponent ever.

Duke my butt. ECU is the best team in NC.
Hire that staff. Not the 1992 north northwest Michigan staff

Duke would beat ECU. But both Duke and ECU would pound us. Duke pounding is still looming.

Second TD of the day for Romar Morris, as he scores from 14 yards out after a nice KO return by T.J. Logan. It's 70-41 Pirates, 7:09 left.

I couldn't have been more wrong about UNC. ECU is unbelievable. They have a Senior QB but gotta tip my cap to that offense. Ruffin McNeil is an ECU alum he isn't going anywhere.

Especially not to be the worst paid coach in the ACC.

"Meanwhile, ECU was doing anything it wanted on offense and while the Heels did force some stops, the UNC offense stalled. It was clear that ECU was the better team and the Tar Heels had relied too much on non-conventional plays to even stay in the game. That, in itself, was a telling. "Pulling out all the stops" is something overmatched teams do in an effort to steal points to even the playing field a bit. The fact UNC had to do it versus ECU is a testament to how good the Pirates are and the present state of affairs in Chapel Hill."
