Real time anything outside of live sports is dying. People want to listen on their terms.

and arent we a 'i want the damn info right now!!' society???

how can you find out instantly that such and such was fired or traded, if youre listening to a podcast from 6 hours ago??

do you people drive and stare at your phones to get alerts??

Yeah, that's fair.

A modern podcasting app takes care of managing the downloads (give me only the 3 most current, etc).

I hear ya on the cords. I'm stuck in a car that has aux with a cord. But at least it's what I want to hear with limited ads.
