Are these people for real? I was about to ease up on my hate level, since: 1) Yukon is currently serving an NCAA penalty arising out of an ignominious cheating scandal; 2) it's facing imminent irrelevance without a league; and 3) KO is a decent guy (who doesn't chew gum like a donkey). But if I'm reading this right -- Yukon is actually throwing stones about "shifty academic shenanigans"? http://www.theuconnblog.com/2013/2/...conn-james-southerland-reinstated-eligibility You can't make this stuff up.

Let's not even talk about the fact that SU, unlike Yukon, HAS academic standards, and enforces its requirements without regard to player status (the very reason why star athletes like Fab Melo and James Southerland were suspended in the first place).

But even if we didn't have standards, "term papers" would still be an odd subject for Yukon to raise, having its own (far uglier) history of cozy suspensions after felony theft charges,

and domestic battery and burglary http://msn.foxsports.com/collegebas...lf-arrested-suspended-domestic-dispute-021113 [current center Enosch Wolf]

Even former players are distinguishing themselves with the knowledge they gained at Yukon.

Wonder how soon they'll bring Wolf back?

No sense in arguing with a husky. They don't speak human.

They are so tired of being insignificant that they have to use whatever they can do justify how much they SUCK.

Love rivalry week.

Uconn has been a successful program. Fact. Syracuse has been a successful program. Fact.

Syracuse has a brighter future in college basketball than Uconn. Fact.

Neither side should be throwing stones here. Both programs are guilty of lack of institutional control.

We're not perfect (no program is). But I'll take our record any day. And not for nothing ... we're not the ones talking about shenanigans.

I'd love to hear your definition of insignificant.

What I meant by insignificant is that you had a program that was consistently one of the top programs in the country up until last year when it fell apart for them; sanctions, transfers, Calhoun retirement. When you are so use to winning and when I say winning, I mean championships and then you aren't even allowed to play for the Big East championship; that makes you insignificant. In no way was I saying they have been insignificant for many years. I was just pointing out that this has to make you bitter; especially when one of your bitter rivals is doing well.

For me I really don't hate UCONN as much as other posters; I hate Kentucky and G'Town.

I have been to several BE tournaments, sometimes I went with the complete book of tickets and sometimes I scalped as we won. For those of you that go to the tourney, you know what I'm talking about.
There is nothing better than buying your tickets for the next round from a UConn fan.

I have made friends from other schools through our common hate for UConn fan. The conversation usually begins with a statement about how classless they are. Won't miss them one bit.

Hello pot please meet kettle!

That is one side of the coin...the other side is the future and I will take ours over theirs...

Bottom line...no one knows what the landscape is going to look like when the dust settles. If Kevin Ollie can win, he'll get recruits. Memphis still gets top recruits and its in CUSA. Gonzaga is a relevant program and its in the WCC. Fans like to talk trash to each other, that's all this is about.

I'm with you. But trash like the "shifty shenanigans" article could move them up on the hate list in a hurry. That took stones from a program famous for wrist-slapping star athletes.

Can we just all agree that to compete at a certain level in D1 men's basketball, it takes a certain level of, shall we say, effort that may fall into some gray areas at times and leave it at that?

Let's be honest, I bet you can take the top 10 programs of the last decade, start snooping around and find quite a bit to keep people interested.

Ya, UConn has a checkered past, we have a checkered past, etc etc.

Some teams are going to bend the rules, some will break them and some will try to find ways to avoid them... it doesn't matter. Bottom line, no place is perfect and no one is without fault (except for Carmelo).

So let's keep rooting like hell against each other on the court and root for each other to stay off probation. I'd rather beat UConn on the floor then see them not in the post season (in fact, I would like them to be in the ACC).

My definition of insignificant is when all you can talk about is the past, primarily because you have no future. Another definition of becoming insignificant, basketball wise, is when you spend your energy putting down other programs, when your own has become an unmitigated disaster. There are reasons why no major conference wants you. You bring nothing to the table but bad karma. Best of luck in the insignificant MAC.

F them. I think its time I registered for a chance at posting over there.

The UConn faithful are afraid. They are lashing out about being left behind. They are hurt about being unwanted. The are standing on the edge of the abyss and all they see is a future that is very different from the last 20~25 years. We should leave them alone and let them wallow in their misery. These are scary time for UConn.

I wonder what your sig would be...

and who started that thread? Another one of cto's good guys. Alexd. They point out that we did have a ban in '93. But notice the Big east didn't consider banning us from the Big east tournament. Even the Catholic 7 was nothing to do with them.

Gotta love Storz fans who come here and pretend to be nice and then show their true colors. F every one of them
