What are we even looking forward to?

I was there in 86, I was an SU junior. Sherm's freshman year. You are so wrong. He did not play much behind Pearl but he was very good when he played in garbage time. When Pearl went to the NBA there was optimism about Sherm because he looked good in the his limited time. I wrote a story about it for a Dome game program as a stringer.

I don't know what to tell ya. Among my group of friends, with season tickets at half court, we used to mock him and we were worried about the major 'drop off' from Pearl. It may not have been about 'negative statistics' or the types of woes Carey has been experiencing, but Sherm looked goofy and "unorthodox," especially compared to Pearl. Half of that was just Sherm's physicality and style. Half of it was him just being a freshman and Pearl was All World. There was a contrast.

I'd like to see that article, though. Still have a copy? Can you scan it?
