4/7/57 Ted Atkinson was a jockey. He'd just been the first living jockey inducted into the horse racing Hall of Fame. He’s the first guest.

5/10/64 Willie Hartack, a jockey. Like Ted Atkinson, he’s the first guest.


Frankly, I had not heard of Ted Atkinson but I had heard of Willie (Bill) Hartack, who won 9 Triple Crown races, including 5 Kentucky Derbys, one shortly before this appearance. Atkinson won two Triple Crown races. Hartack was champion jockey in wins four times to two for Atkinson.

Ted Atkinson's two Triple Crown wins came aboard Capot. They were second in the 1949 Kentucky Derby but came back to win the Preakness and the Belmont. He's a rather dark clip of the Preakness win:
