4/15/62 Casey Stengel, who comes on at the 17 minute mark. It doesn’t take long to recognize him.


The Mets certainly would "write their name large in sports history".

10/23/60 Ralph Houk, just after he was named manager of the New York Yankees. He’s the first guest and very talkative.


Why call him "Mr. X" if they are blindfolded?

7/2/61 Yogi Berra, who comes on at 19:20. Bennett Cerf grabs him like a line drive.

He was back on the show on 4/26/64. He comes on first this time. This is his first year managing the Yankees. Bennett Cerf asks him to imagine what it would be like to be manager of the Mets! Yogi replies "I don't know yet!"


Yogi had also been on the show on 8/5/51 but that is a lost episode.
